USPF Inks a Memorandum of Agreement with CHING KUO Institute of Management and Health

On October 17, 2007 an agreement of academic cooperation between the University of Southern Philippines Foundation and Ching Kuo Institute of Management and Health was signed by Dr. Alicia P. Cabatingan, President and Dr. Chun-Yu Chen, President in Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China.

The objectives of the agreement are to promote academic cooperation between the two educational institutions through faculty and student exchanges, initiate cooperative programs, develop cultural exchanges and to consider the hosting of cultural events from the other country which may enrich and expand cultural understanding for the faculty and students of the other school.

USPian Places 3rd in CPA Licensure Examination

Denmar Bacalso Cantillas, BS Accountancy Batch 2007 scored 93.14 to take 3rd place among 2,299 passers of the October 2007 CPA Licensure Examination. Mr. Cantillas graduated Summa Cum Laude and a recipient of the following awards:

  • Champion, 2nd BDO & Alba & Co and National Federation of JPIA 2005, Nationwide Search for Accounting Wizard
  • 2nd Placer, Outstanding Accounting Students of the Philippines
  • Presidential Gold Medallion Awardee, USP’s Finest 2007 Don Agustin Jereza Awardee, USP’s Finest 2006

TESDA officially Accredits USPF as a Competency Assessment Center

Last September 25, 2007 USPF was presented with a Certificate of Accreditation No. R070702111 by TESDA as an Accredited Competency Assessment Center in Region VII for the following competency skills:

  • Bartending (NC II)
  • Food and Beverage Services (NC II)
  • Housekeeping (NC II

To take the National Certificate examination, applicants must first meet the qualification requirements developed by TESDA for that level of certification. Those requirements include the skills and competencies learned through formal or non-formal technical and vocational education training (TVET) programs, or acquired through employments.
