Teacher Education

The University of Southern Philippines Foundation College of Education boasts of PACUCOA-accredited programs that trains students to become somebody who can make a difference in transforming other people’s lives. As early as their first year, students are trained to handle different types of learners through the department’s community partners. The college has an existing student exchange program where students can avail of the scholarship and study in UCC Denmark for free.
The USPF College of Education, with its PACUCOA accredited programs, envisions to produce empowered educators who effect change and transform lives. Through quality training programs and exposure to the actual field of teaching, the college aims to prepare its students to be globally competitive and equipped with abilities responsive to the needs of lifelong learners.
Aside from instruction within the four corners of the classroom, COED exposes its students to sustainable community outreach activities and linkages which help in the development of functional literacy, numeracy, and technology skills in partner communities.
COED, as a research-oriented training institution for teacher education, aims to produce teachers who undertake relevant researches in education aligned with global standards. The college takes pride in its students who have participated in different local and international research conferences.

Program Description

Bachelor of Elementary Education (PACUCOA Level II Accredited)

The BEED is an undergraduate teacher education degree program designed to prepare individuals to teach. It draws from various allied disciplines like Social Sciences, Science, Math, Technology, Languages, and Humanities to ensure that the graduates have a multi-disciplinary preparation in content and pedagogy and develop highly motivated and competent teachers for elementary education.

Bachelor of Secondary Education (PACUCOA Level III Accredited)

The BSED is an undergraduate teacher education program designed to equip learners with adequate and relevant competencies to teach. It aims to develop highly motivated and competent teachers specializing in the content and pedagogy in English and Science for secondary education.

Diploma in Professional Education

This diploma program is offered to all graduates of any four-year or five-year baccalaureate degree holders who wanted to pursue a teaching career. The entire program is 36 units which can be finished in one year. For those who only wanted to take the PRC- BLEPT, the 18-21 units requirement for the board can be finished in one semester.

Diploma in Special Education

This diploma program is offered to all graduates of any four-year or five-year baccalaureate degree holders who wanted to pursue a teaching career for individuals with special needs. The entire program is 36 units which can be finished in one year.

Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English

    • 3. acquire extensive reading background in language, literature, and allied fields

Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science
